We first discovered Story pizza last year when two dear friends took us to its previous location in brick lane. Run by two lovely individuals it was a calming place hidden behind large gates in the middle of buzzing Shoreditch.
Its current location in Calvert Avenue has been set up as a pop-up and although smaller has retained the effortless charm which is so characteristic of its owners.
As we did the previous time, we started our meal with a mixed leaves salad and like last time, the selection of organic leaves, the dressing and toppings were simply delicious.
We then chose a salmon and spinach pizza, and …
a fast Eddie spicy one.
The pizzas at Story are very thin yet packed with flavour thanks to the very generous organic toppings which are, no doubt, the star of each dish. They are not really pizzas but more like thin flat breads serving as plates.
After lunch, we had a delicious coffee and a really great catch up with our friends. Like us, so did others, because it is a comfortable place. A place which feels special and welcoming in equal measure thanks to the two owners.
