Science has always led architecture, a profession that soaks up knowledge from other fields like a sponge.
A very current topic bearing in mind RIBA’s HomeWise team’s research and campaign seeking to demand a better standard for British homes. I must say that I am under no doubt , architecture (and the built form) do reshape our brains. As we look back, all our memories are shaped by their context: the tangible (physical one) or the intangible (atmospheric one). It is because of this direct contribution to our experiences that many architects have lost sleep for years as they continue to look for ways to improve designs focusing their attention on sustainability, liveability and flexibility amongst other things.
